Clients with Mental Health Care Plans are eligible for a rebate from Medicare (see below). Private health fund rebates may apply where Medicare cover is not available. This will depend on the level of cover you have, and individual fund rules. Inner West Psychologists are registered with all major health funds.

Services that may incur additional charges include: preparation of letters or reports (not including those already provided within the assessment fee/process); offsite face to face visits; phone calls and teleconferences; case conference meetings; preparation of case notes or reports for court hearings; attendance at court.

Medicare Rebates

Please see your doctor if you would like to be assessed for eligibility for Medicare rebates. Book a longer appointment for this. If your doctor considers your situation suitable for this, they will create a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) under Medicare’s Better Access to Mental Health Care programme. This will allow you to claim for a substantial rebate for up to 10 of your treatment sessions in any calendar year.

Please bring your Mental Health Treatment Plan with you to your first visit as the claim cannot be made without it.

Private Health Insurance Rebates

Inner West Psychologists are registered with Private Health Insurance Funds. Please contact your health insurance provider directly to confirm if you are eligible for rebates as not all health funds will provide a rebate towards psychology services.
